up here
there’s no other force
than gravity
no other notion
than homesickness
no other place than this
an ongoing motion
from cloud to cloud
the destination beside the point
a food tray, a magazine
a permanent transition
it’s all in the way matter
clumps together
in the cascading echo of departure
the endless goodbye
the impending (nonexistent) return
the terrible silence
of sleepless space
