Efi Hatzimanolis #157 Athens

I’m thinking of a city, wild underfoot
with unbreathable air, summer
stepping on its cracks, releasing
the scent of dried chamomile flowers
into the smog, cypress, and rotting concrete,
the unexpected sweetness overpowering
the Athenian killer smog

  6. I have never been there, this gave me such a equal glimpse, and evoked other city I have known. 'Wild underfoot' is wonderful.
