Robert Verdon, #213, harvest memory for me

Oreo moon

plate-glass pond
liquid brickwork
lacquered lives

navel moon
fine laughing moon
oval-eyed moon
six-gun moon

living in mirrors
puddles and
cat saucers
muddy moon
often mistaken for a streetlight

lime-white lenticular moon
plate-glass moon
tracery moon

practising your arcane rhythms
on the hard rubber pad of night
winking at Mars

icy plaque on the coffin sky

nude moon
damask moon
card-carrying moon
grim moon

moon crying in the gutter

fur stupas abound here
and an opal city of skyscraper trees
surreal singularity of mime moon
barrow moon with guitar
bullet burning in the flesh of time
coin of the dead

here is a photograph of Lenin in Finland
and of Simone Weil in Spain
what am I to say?

lee shore blues and jazz garters
fringed buckskin moon
nursery bell moon
spider lowering then crossing the white desk of the moon
O, Ptolemy
dinghies with sails flapping beneath you
harvest memory for me
