Kit Kelen #1196 - in sure and certain knowledge

1196
in sure and certain knowledge
(old Truth is called to the stand, examined)

am I among words here to speak?
may I?

as much as to worm
same sky
and in the earth worms work
… we lie

friends, let’s have the truth
it won’t matter much who the music is for

I sleep under a dream
no daylit waking touches

past where the words are thick
and how the river rides

we swim

all will be well
and we’ll be golden
in the garden
dancing
and to sing
praises
for all that is
for the one

as much as to worm
same sky
and in the earth worms work
… we lie

in sure and certain knowledge
dead emperors
dead empires
dead languages of prayer

just because the mystery
of all that is
of everything we are

and some of us with knack to fib
fancied ourselves some flash god’s pet

religion?
funniest thing since lightning struck
since flood and fire and famine

it’s fear
and who’s in charge

that’s what religion
is / was
why?

just all because the mystery
is matter
of the animal we are

as much as to worm
same sky
and in the earth worms work
… we lie

I sleep under a dream
no daylit waking touches

tell truth
it’s nowhere but our hearts now

we are alive and well
forever
on to eternity, past
and till the cows come home

wake to the wicked world
it’s turning

bitter with the truth
better with big lies

tell truth
it’s nowhere but our hearts now
as frail and doomed as day

am I among words here to speak?
I sleep under a dream

oh comfort to be slave, believe …
but that is not for us, my friends
we’re otherwise condemned
