Kit Kelen #887 - live in a forest

887
live in a forest

leaves drift down

never hear the tall ones drink
never hear what sun says

I live in a forest

it comes with clouds
with mould and lichen
there's every colour in it

the blue sets off
right round the stone
no one ever threw

or planets of a night
come silent
in their distance

inside the sky
under the stars
this is my address

I live in a forest
hear the rain
listen for the road
all in the after glisten

I live in a forest
admit that it is

I can think of many reasons
fear of fire
or wanting some
walls to hold up
and furniture
and instrument

the tree is after loved

with roof
you'll look out

live the forest
and let's say home
because we're here
and welcome all!
join us strangers

perhaps you'll find the forest fruits
and see what we can't

those who climb
most wordlessly
they make my day

consider every creature
mourn the ones now gone

leaf drift
and glisten in the after fall

lit just when sun says

here's where we let the moment in
it's with us all the day
and sleep on it
to dream your tree
then you'll admit
you live in a forest

with mists
and cow edge
chimney for winter

I think you know the song

and on account of being here
we owe the ones are gone

didn't you once plant a seed?
and all the years to here
your heart

that moon's for an example to us
and stars (no longer city seen)
they're as far back as you go
no one to wave to up there, not yet
seems like the forest is it for us
for every one round here

all the valley wakes to this wonder
of forest either side

don't you sometimes blink
it's still there
let's not blink till it's gone

live in a forest
still see the sky

ask when did the saw become a machine
that was really a help
and nails - how did they get into a gun?

it's day to day we do it
you won't notice all that's gone

the rain
the sunshine
we're collectors
and feed
a forest lives in us

little bird told me
I'm here to translate

and shiver me timbers
a river runs through
tide's rising
an Ark
and biblical too!

is it weather will blow this all away?
it's great swaggering dollar
with smoke
curse of growth

I came for beauty, quiet, calm
you can see how much trouble I am

it's like a religion I commit
to this love of here I am
and leave it better after

I live in a forest

a leaf falls
follow with your eyes
no need to be like that

I'll take my model from these trees
they know how to stand

Rob Schackne #669 - "A vagrant pineapple"

           A vagrant pineapple
           powerful and implacable
           doesn't belong to me

           AvalokiteÅ›vara yeah

           might be gone tomorrow
           are you really on facebook
I can't find you to befriend

           I heard it once
           I can remember it again

a real good case for reincarnation

           compassion yeah

Kit Kelen #886 - two mother ones - inventory of you and webster pack

886
two mother ones

inventory of you

the book of mother was and did

so many things piled
each a decision

up for
once proud
twice shy
smitten

with the tooth
that sine qua non
of pirate you

Bob's your uncle

the nursery rhyme with
things people won't say anymore
so much hidden away

the cupboards
and the table tops

once part kiss
and arms to hold
like Billy-o

mares eat oats and does eat oats

a clever quip you were
now so much underwear

o toreador, don't spit on the floor
snatch song from inside out the air

wise saws, most inherited
were gold were then
grandfather said
wash hands before and after reading

and go outside to play
seen and not heard

some unworthy half thought
formed from a bigoted age
becomes a hunch, takes hold
in absence of
little lambs eat ivy

don't bite
don't give them the satisfaction

the mad woman's washing
was always hung straight

and motherhood
let's not forget
that was a statement she made

all bags to Vinnies now

but let me make you once-was
tuck cosy into that

I dream old friends back to life
won't you come home Bill Bailey?
and nothing to mar our joy

I dreamt the milk was off
I couldn't smell it though

webster pack

what day is it today?
how many in the week?

this one for pain
and here's the clock stop

for the heart
and for the blood
this one cause you're too sweet

words will no longer be spelt
or what you call it
blister

whole month here
this one with water
this one with wine

down you all go
I'm young when once
why not?

what if a month is Sundays
what if a blue moon

once upon
having survived amazement

run the machine
the sun is shining

swallow these down
and live

jeffree skewes #47 2 seconds

2 seconds

I'll be there
just for you

I won't bring
other stuff
confusion
their problems
issues

when I get
to you

my attention
will be yours

2 seconds..
.

Rob Schackne #668 - "But no tragedy"

                But no tragedy
                my dear
                I think I found
                most of it
                you were right
                it waited
                in odd places
                before the corner
                near the bed
                in the shower
                in the kitchen sink
                it wasn't for this
I'd have been dead long ago

Kerri Shying R #465 - compete with things that fly

Listen to the cold bats chatter    still time before
the loquats  come up ripe    how can the
green-fuzzed hardness  of their  present stave off
the time for nets   and hand-to-hand fighting
it makes it seem like summer  when you

compete with things that fly

listen for them wheeling through the night
cackling in the wee small hours    building
buttress to their trickery   I become
a woman on a porch  speaking
keep on driving   you  touch the fruit  you die

Thirty Summers # 134 Claine Keily

To nap in the afternoon, to marvel at starfall are acts of rebellion by someone born a 'she', a she who has parents chained to a life working in shops. Today I create a revolution made out of the dreams I have of sloth, while I wash carpets and feed the animals by hand so as they can be warm, their bellies full of sunny hay.

Weekends are made of this, for I drive so far to my workplace and I am then hammered down by the children who want only to practice cruelty or to play. I am making a practice of learning to see in their behaviour a job I never planned for, in which I no longer teach literature, but rather sharpen my skills at knowing when to praise and when to walk away.

Kit Kelen #885 - before words

885
before words

it's all firstness
of course we are so cute

it's perfectly we come
from mother muck
and father far
and all unknown to be

isn't any order but up
and daisy
let's see out of this roof

nothing to puke into yet
won't see how putrid

eyes not open
nor to dream

though where else are we from?

first time I found winter
it was in a poor man's coat
lung bite
ash hands
bone to the point

so dig
world's in the under all
who's willing?

yay even unto a chamber of dust

you have to imagine first bird to be there
and colour of never before

a violin
all ages after
now the sunshine means

these are the people you're with
get used to it
and you're the bubble blown

Kerri Shying R # 464 - drumhead cabbages solid through the heart

you cooked me sausages   the creamy boiled German ones
that tear like silk voile on the tooth   pale not bland
another surprise in our  sweet cul de sac   safariland
of small dogs   unleashed   seeking the other out
little fur missiles  whimpering  at gates  where like calls to like

drumhead cabbages  solid through the heart

fattening for the sustenance   of winter  people
impervious to bugs  that lay the summer  greens  to waste
we are the long strides   taken  when  the fire
so easy to ignite  in young creek beds   is taken on the road
hidden from the air until the moment comes    to breathe

Kit Kelen #883 - studies for seven ages - think of childhood and it's gone

883
studies for seven ages

think of childhood and it's gone

but where it went we can still follow
crackle of static to say

it's slip away under
and still taste it now

like snow
like fresh rain fallen

here's the puffing house
for winter
first frost to sweeten

from where the sun
first was imagined
or you'll say older than

then it gets used to us
stops complaining so much

it's vanish if a world
and stretched to it

planted a letterbox mid-forest
by woodsmoke in this rise of weeds

simple breeze
and all the letters came

look up to stars
to cloud
as gone

where it went
you still can follow

it isn't a place
where we are

Rob Schackne #667 - Promises to Keep (after RF & KdK)

Promises to Keep

                        after RF & KdK

Whose blood this is
I think I know
his home is nowhere
or nowhere near

anyway he is gone
he is dark and deep
he won't see me stopping here
inside an alley way

these streets aren't mine
there are no easy winds
it isn't lovely
there's been some mistake

not so far to go
not so far to go
it isn't lovely
I have promises to keep

Kristen de Kline #206 whose blood is this

+
where is the sky
are you crazy
who let the dogs out
whose blood is this

+
you hear them talking
down at Lakeside:
they're all
still breathing
the girl,
who set herself
on fire,
she's made it
through
the night

+
he bangs on your wall
Josef, with his feet
calling out
something
about God and 'Nam
doing lines with Courtney Love
being spat on at a Sex Pistols gig
is he laughing now
or crying
nobody
knows

+
the next morning
the Uber driver
takes off in the wrong direction
you're left standing
on the tag:
YOUNG & DUM
looking
for the sky
dabbing blood up
with a soggy Kleenex
listening to
pins
drop
bombs
fall
one
by
one

Rob Schackne #666 - "Scary"

Scary
the memento mori
between acts
as plain as
the nose on your face
no one spared
what a dance
the clown
goes outside to smoke
& a little whisky
cold autumn night
coughing
the applause

Kit Kelen #882 - winter piece

882
winter piece

further further
into the dark
and worst foot forward

cling to this line
as a life buoy

foot after foot
won't see through this smoke
and then the fire's cold

rain in earnest then
and it could be forever too

shapes, colours - only memory
and what if morning doesn't come?

then night will be deeper
into the dark

cursed awake to know
this wind between the ears
all thoughts away

black dream
and down

huddle
naked in it
chilled to bone

the moon goes
and the stars are bung

forever night
as at a pole

darker and darker
you do it yourself

you can wake up dead
from winter

you can do this on a clear blue day

will you cosy up with?

do you think you can eat your way out?
