Ken Trimble # 16 Lay down on the grass

I laid down at night
under an old tree
in Edinburgh gardens
unable to disentangle
my emotions
from the film
There will be Blood.

I was a long way
from home as I walked
the lonely streets of
Fitzroy.

Unable to breathe
I set myself down
on the grass hearing
night creatures and a
solitary car 3am

I could feel the weight
of something so sad
percolating into the reaches
of my soul
I needed a garden
for me to heal.

  1. I've decided to live
    in a book
    in the garden
I have to write it myself
    and make the pictures too

must sing until you all believe
come to my senses with you
