Insomniacs have extra company this evening
night shouldn't be this hot
sheets smooth and clingy
crickets chat their usual nocturnal
wonder and sweat audibly
exhausted bed out of suggestions
still awake
under blankets of heat
How many bad poems will be written
by would-be sleepers
tonight I have extra company
