Kristen de Kline #166 There is no other news

How many times have I said:
I’m not sure who it was
teach me about sadness
it's dark as shit in here

the moon is bright
I have shelter
build more
I need an axe
burn more
and friends, I have
fuck the wolf

it’s like hide and seek
throw me a dictionary
turn the bloody pages
follow the heart
does it hurt

on a silent plain
the lawless, we lie
scattered,   wailing

onto a burnt orange sky
the tower melts, slowly

we feed on moonlight
and howl at the full moon

she never came home last night
I hope our tears aren't wasted
how long do we put up with this for

we whisper dreams to the stars
slam our poems,   hard

against the bedroom wall
deep, into the cracked plasterboard

where’s the cat?

some journeys just
have to be made
there is no other news
