James Walton #6 Windy Fonts, Two - Southerly

Windy Fonts, Two

Southerly

An Antarctic benediction
sashays through rooms -
open now inviting the cleansing rite,
the drifting foreshadowing mist seeps
before the challenge to come out.
Swirls in black smudge buffet and hurry
thrown in the corner of the artist’s studio sky,
spiralling cork screw manic dive
drafts skimmed from glacial drift
are ramming trees from the other side.
Birds stall and flail drop and catch
swing their smoky censer wings
thumb a cross of cool breeze to bless.
