Kit Kelen #269 - argument for a limited collective solipsism

269
argument for a limited collective solipsism

slips from our grip
this world
with which we can't be trusted
must be accounted in words

words being our principal way to be
how can we agree?

'leaving this world'
glib phrase for those fools
yet to notice the body

still and all, the slipping goes on

the tricky organs of perception
suggest there might be somewhere else

and we know there is
from the thousands we tell
we can guess at a number
greater than counting

but none of you will be going
in any tangible frame of time
that, my friends, is a good thing

the idea of elsewhere is
just to get you over the line

yes
it slips from your grip
and it slips from mine
this world
with which we can't be trusted

all of that smoke
and the noise that we make!

irresistible to think
how much better without us
the rest of the family will be

but for now and here
all make do

call the objective conditions

for practical purposes
there's only your body
there's feeling - sensation
there are the thoughts the body contains

each of us
equally interior
having
this world
and these words
for instance
every day like this

just as we have decided to share
