Frog on a plate
squat leather skin
part cactus part waratah
my green unopened pinecone

I want to break you open
taste the white fibres of you
all sweet satin sheets
and suck on your black pearls

    A fruit with character, and one of my favourites. Lovely poem. Made me realise all the different aspects to enjoy - incongruous appearance, taste, texture, and 'black pearls'.
