Vale Le Guin
I saw you died   you put the air
behind my pen   drew ice and caves
made places  that sat right
on my tongue
there were no copses
bonnets
buggies     games of hopscotch
Ursula    the name seemed
even then to be a part
of those
constellations above us   while
we lay out on the
grass   with Dad
looking up   waiting for Sputnik
while he told us
things   about the earth
and we would feel it
move
vast and curved
beneath our backs
spoke the words    up to the sky
felt them sink into
the ground
take root
and here now
here we are

Ah...she was important to me too.
