Red cone-Day 16- Lazy warm day at the farm

on the side verandah
gazing north
sitting quietly with him and him
after midday and panettone
the breeze calling gently to
rosemary and lavender
roses gelati coloured pink lemon
white
water bowls for the birds
bird baths for the bees
weeds pushing through the
garden
endless weeds
the sound of a lonely cricket
keeping rhythm for the chorus
of bees humming in harmony
the rustle of the apricot tree
a blowfly in another key
bamboo intermittently singing
a large brown spider running
towards me
stopped in its tracks
as an ant pounces on it
the spider escapes
and now magpies conversing
warbling
not repetitious
a crow interjects with a raucous
note
the sound of a New Holland Honey eater
as willy wagtails tease
the bees
the distant sound of unknown
birds
feeling drowsy
sleep is beckoning
on this lazy warm day
