What words to write today
Many fight with each other
Today
It is the birthday of my mother
Words come and slip away
My lovely mother
My sister and I
Lovingly cared for on the farm
we never came to any harm

Words tumbled at 4 am
words found
well before the awakening sound

I used to write with rhythm and rhyme
Once upon a time
The bass I played and sang
some songs
For bands I was in for so long
like ' You make me nervous'

You make me nervous like the daylight coming
shuffle my feet look at the floor
close the door
You make me nervous

This I would belt out more like a
shout
it was such fun
but now it's done

Words still come in shapes and forms
and rhythm and rhyme
sometimes
They tumble around without much sound
As my puppy Titch chews
the leg of my chair like a hound
