Kit Kelen - for a Series with Jack Picone's photographs - #19 - breathless

19
breathless

who doesn't want a knife thrown at them?
can you think of another way to live?

do we belong here?
will you watch?
is this not thrilling, stupid?

reminding us what flesh we are

they hold one breath
that's family

like coins the air has high
fate yet unknown
how's that?
it's easy as

is it life that flashes before the eyes?
les jeux sont faits

walls fall
a tent is best for rubble
comes with its own air-con

and here we are up against it
as every day
how each is in a moment gone
but it's not the whole tribe to one knife
there will surely be survivors

how each is in a moment gone
that must be our belonging

  1. Nice use of the French expression, "les jeux sont faits" , yes I'm afraid they are! whether it's a free choice or a decision to make, being very well aware, we must admit that most of the times, for a lot of people, games have been played ...

  2. CHINA

    Midnight, lunar eclipse
    occluded by typhoon cloud
    suddenly in the southern sky
    (between the tail of Cetus
and the water jar of Aquarius)
    it appears behind our longing
a dress rehearsal (there’s no net)
    for the famed knife-throwing act
    before the performance tomorrow
as these soft targets take their turns
to know the meaning of family, to see
in Mid-Autumn festival, Li Bai, you, me.
