Chinese food     it’s not
like that
in China    folded chow mein
over curry rice   unchanged 
my life-long   crunch
the squiggly
bag of noodles  brown paper
left unmarked by oil
imagine   the
association for
restaurant-settings-up
posting out the menu  
the small 
drawings of the pig and
chicken 
 to a new life in the soup
