BURKE: Tim Winton Poem - #7

Tim Winton is 30 centimetres long,
shorter than some of his sentences.
“We could see from the surface
... there were at least
two new species that weren’t
in the field guide. That’s how
different they were. You don’t need
to get them in your hand, they just jump out at you.”
His life on the water
washes up on every page,
a ‘very beautiful’
gold and silver coloured grunter.
