Rob Schackne #759 - how do you know where to put the pain

says a monster with an iron mask
there are no elephants here for you
no tender sweethearts to hug
why do you keep on doing this
I hear a joke but you’re a scream

how do you know where to put the pain

the door’s unlocked the devil knocks
my blanket feels like it has buckles
I'd get up and run to somewhere safe
(it’s impossible of course I’m lame)
a desperate nightmare I recite a poem

      if it will,
      but I ask
that my story be heard and considered.
      Such is life.
