Kerri Shying R # 611 - The Volcano at The Mater

 The volcano at the Mater

I visit the vent volcano     every time I come    the dino’s
who lived through everything but some comet

they are the patients in the halls   levelled
by internal explosions

drink my coffee in the loggia
waiting on the bloods

noise bounces    from nurses
from glass to beams   off and into starred

space   radiating to rooms where silent
cancer opens  a flowering doom
