Jeffree Michael #80 To many too high
Those hurdles remind one
this ol' race is a little rigged
the giddy hights
no lovey dovey
adjusted by scale
never grasped but always worn
so long as the sneaker fits
a leg-up's good luck oh yeah really
don't know the road or have lineage
discrete connections take to make
working rooms a floor jumping exercise
not to mention pre-paid soft landings
hushed inheritance and all that oh yeah
this ain't no lottery this ain't no disco
it's perfect teeth
post-grad degrees overseas
guaranteed no break-ins
except for the ol' one-two
establishment crim pulling strings
trigger a bit of heavy in the punch
lurching the rollin' dice na you say
this ain't no pro-cliv-ity
trickled down and snapped up oh yeah right
by bureaucratic cultural equality
inclusion committees universally
poised @ desk to usher creatiffs
bursting with artistic merity
# just don't forget
we're full-up too many seated at present
allocating shrinking pie pieces no easy peasy measy
oh well dig deep you're so grounded anyway
try again in a month to two... you can do it
arise and fly if you really must
stay positive lucid well-balanced unrelenting
keep a clear state of mind be inspired
remind us all / all is not lost
aim high soar into the void
this ol' pirouette's sprung
by more than just feet
it takes an ever-beating heart and smile
to defend what others become
while you're just counting the ways
dinner will come
