I got dreams to remember
I'm listening to
the Back-up Singers
starring themselves,
wondering who
are poets' back-up singers?
Editors? Prose writers beside
poets between the sheets?
I got dreams to remember
Birds back-up my dreams
wake me to the poem
as cicadas sing a capella.
