step in
bluer than you can say,
this sky
you couldn’t make this
stuff up
but you do
the song comes after us
a certain forested path
swagger lilt
step into
inside
under
over
have a good stretch,
dip
test air
touch water
see daylight through
the crossings out
find your own way in
the poem
step in
and everywhere is there
already
it is a little woods
and garden
hum the poem too
it is bird chimed
dark descends
so solemn sober
sometimes
come to a fence of fire
is it a garden where we
walk?
Have you seen those
hearts grown feeling fat?
trail of crumbs is gone
the stirring thing’s
the breeze
find yourself
at last
in your own words
this is your way now
