St David's Day
no sense to speak of
luck for this world
when no one speaks
elsewhere
in
any wind, perch
branch
upon
to
coming stillness tuned
these
take the eye up
as
if an offer had been made
take
up the posture recommended
have
hills and streams and song
an
ache like the weather come again
in
two spare pages facing
so
many creatures are listening for me
deities
of soil and soon
we
know that the world is all at once
why
are we turned away?
in
another world there's snow
we're
shown to have lived this far
a good answer too
