KA Rees #69 - Cordate


Cordate

The sun the sun rises through the leaves,
perennial arms, grass grows in tufts
seedhead open to the waist of air stirring
this string quartet of grasses. Clay
beds keep roots rich but not the snap
of frost across cooled earth. The sun
renders morning away.
