put some light on the subject
a one
woman welcome
and
mixed message too
who’s
leaving all these lights on everywhere?
I see
her face at the door
the real
mum
kiss,
doubt, scold, commend, advise
our
garden full of her cuttings
runs
over the paths like her seasons here
who’s
boiling enough water for a tribe?
how then
are there years beyond?
none of
this makes sense
who’s
leaving all these half drunk
cups of
cold tea everywhere?
of
course she pops up
has the
last word
tries to
talk us out of going
close
your eyes
she’s with
us now
and she’s
saying
don’t
stumble around in the dark
put
some light on the subject
