Dear Anna, I like these a great deal. Good on you. They depict what has been going on here in China for decades now. A fellow expat, Sue Anne Tay, has made it her project to document, by her excellent photography and writing, this destruction (and re-writing) of the past...but it of memory really. Her spirit is very admirable. You might like to visit her website sometime at www.shanghaistreetstories.com

DeleteThanks Rob. Yes, this is what's happening in inner city Sydney as well. We're surrounded by cranes, jack hammers etc
ReplyDeletethe disease of cranes... here, too... this looks like a woodcut? love the starkness, the mask-like features
ReplyDeletelove the colours, too, you're getting... are you printing them yourself ( I realize now, it's a linoprint)
Deleteyes I do my own printing, the whole thing. The prints are based on photos I took. Thanks for feedback!
