Danny Gentile #58 - Confabulation (1)

Confabulation (1)

How many memories
have been let go
to a fraught past?

Blocks of history
dissolve away
like aspirin

Leave a grainy cordial
to be drunk down
without relief

A sandcastle
is no jigsaw
for re-creation

Just the thought
instills fear and anger
for the unattained

The best efforts
dry and crumble
so easily here

On the beach
where we scrabble
for our lives

Among seashells
and detritus
tossed aside ...

  1. Great merging of images, so tactile, and visible.

  2. Oh, how good. Life's memories a grainy cordial

  3. Wondrous, Danny, how the pieces get reconnected, like a piece of sandcastle to a seashell.
