Lucy Alexander #47 Bearded

These freckles
the spires the warped
indigo hexagons
the tiger’s leftovers
thrown, with the whiskers
onto the rizome
flowers up and blooms
this time of year.

Builds on itself
rising up from leaf mould
the deaths of many insects
fed its purple moment
the workings in the soil
lead to this jutting
misleading

softness.
