1374
somewhere early
October
lose the socks
not quite daylight
saving
wallaby nibble
in the long dry first
thing
dry leaf tumble till
just by the termite
tower
not yet ripe
but someone’s moved
into the mulberry
and then a friend along
far fires to worry
I keep no clock
so time’s untold
September yet to tear
off
still news breaks
through
needs no welcome
world performs
we too play
in a thong longing
and dream of the beach
it’s feet a little
frozen
walk barefoot in
not enough sleep in
this head
no sun but I salute
