Efi Hatzimanolis #226 Omphale: of poetry ii (inspired by Lizz and Lucy)

Oomphless, my
belly button in
the off position.

But you know what,
I just unhinged a folding, sliding bathroom door.
reefed it right off, worked out how the roller bits worked,
the bits that had fallen off inexplicably,
then I fixed it without instructions, no know how, never done it before, never
even seen it done before, no man around
(in any case, he’s brainy, not handy, and he’d already had a go at it).
no tools, no drama, no navel gazing.
so it wasn’t a poem, but it was primordial.

Belly button in
the ‘on' possie,
poetry in action,
in a body made of earth.

  4. From the navel was born the world and all that it contains, and all the wonders and delights come from there and into our hands to fix things that get bumped and bent along the way... :)

  5. I once had a similar experience with a manual typewriter (mind you, I only cleaned it)
