we are only animals 
for
godsbother 
orphaned as well 
squabble till 
wrestle bite tussle 
and still 
in dream bubble
float
none to notice 
twist tickle 
wrestle for a dare 
some snore 
no true to do 
but tucker, shelter 
sneak up from behind 
give chase
puffed
snuggle  
have been known to howl and ouch 
spread feather for display 
take flight or fright 
these are examples 
there are no ages in us 
we never were before 
wicked and naked and new we are
everything in the dream ours 
in and under skin, a thicket 
lovely lost in there 
sharpened a stick 
told jokes 
polished some parts 
picked nits 
could choke
after a tailchase
hold one’s own 
offended, peevish, gruff
we are coming into leaf 
we surprise ourselves with flower 
shine the sun 
must not be still 
we are here to heal
