ekphraxis is a mode
of living
when you’re surrounded
by sculpture
especially
if it falls on you

kookaburra laughs
in between
the corellas
the night air moist

beautiful summer days
all those days I missed
having a full time job
for 35 years
sitting at computers
hunched over tables
gave education
the best years of my life

as a youngster
I wished for art
in my life
wanted to be an artist
to know artists
to write poetry
to know poets
to be immersed

and so here we are
immersants
