Chrysogonus #81 - megatruh

megatruh
~ tenth song ~

death is the end of the longest prayer
end of the day when heavy lids fall

death's beginning is like a prayer's too
do words unheard sprout wings to fly?

what is it that the tongue rolls off?
capture is evaded

only one word remains
in a pity of broken breath

amen gives itself up
to hearing

before the final
breathlessness

maut mengakhiri doa terpanjang
di penghujung hari kala mata berat

awal kematian pun serupa doa
sayap tumbuh di kata, menjadi tak terucap

tak tertangkap lidah yang bergulung
menghindar dari memakna

hanya satu yang tertinggal
dalam rasa kasihan nafas tersenggal

amin yang menyerahkan diri
untuk disuarakan

sebelum akhir
nafas

PS: Megatruh is the tenth song in "Macapat". "Megat" means to divorce and "ruh" means soul / spirit.
