Good Intentions
the road to hell is
paved
was all she had to
hear
whatever came right
after
left
flapping in her exit
winds
time kept moving
forward big better roads
ahead
some time later
complaining
of the heat bewitched she
built a little place
down there at the
fiery
lake for weekends
brimstone beaches get
a boat in and really when
you think about it
always best to be in
your own home
everywhere
call the shots
guidelines narrow
to a pitted path
goats struggle for
a foothold narrow
nicks in
sheer stone walls
keep out the riff raff
keep out everything
the road to hell is
paved
soon it will be
sewered
too
Wonderfully evocative. I particularly like flapping in her exit winds.
