Red Cone(LF)#329-storm for KK

doors banging
windows clanging
the heavens open up
it thunders down

angry rain
ferocious wind
clothesline stripped bare
soaked cushions forgotten
left outside uncared
a grateful earth thankful
the household awakes
the gentle Xmas slumber
inertia to adrenalin
one swift move
one is reminded
we are alive
and it was exciting
at three in the morning
with the light of the torch
checking on the far flung
and all is well
not conceding
and more precious still
to return to sweet slumber
listening to the steady beat
on the tin roof
of reminders from the gods
that they are in charge
no matter what we think

  1. the gods in everything must be in charge
I don't know what else to think
