Red Cone- Day 22- A memory appears

blue and green
should never be seen
I woke up speaking
where and why just now
blue and green should never be seen
so I immediately wore those colours as a teen
memories
words of my paternal grandmother
one can never be too rich
or too thin
another
I wondered if she modelled herself
on the Duchess of Windsor
I refused the attention
of the man with money
his soul hard to find
or well hidden
justified memories
or false and unfair

my maternal grandmother
a farmer's wife
loving kind and generous
lips that touch wine
shall never touch mine
apologies grandmother
there is now a vine
a vineyard in fact
next to what was once
your kitchen and table

I showed her the perfect little eggs
I found amongst the bamboos
Come inside she said
to her eight year old grand daughter
and drink this lovely glass of water
I returned to look
the perfect eggs
gone
twenty she said
snake eggs
all gone
