the
dream is bigger than the night
each
of us inhabits a death
that's
a world we dream towards
look
up to the far fires
somewhere
in the night my village
it's
the day done
now
turned to stone
and
smoke
elaborate
this preparation
all
the years towards forever
each
absence as it is, will be
uniquely
ours was
I
have a window of night
stars
tell all of the distances
back
to beginning
no
one and nothing will see so far
a
breeze of thatch
and
the aged ox
led
to its wake
but
the worlds in the dream are more than that
I
have a window of day
clouds
are written
where
each stray thought
finds
form to fray
the
ancient alphabet
the
dream I dream will be more telling
each
dusk unfinished
drafts
swept off
and
night likewise
unsigned
look
up to the far fires
how
few the moments
heart’s
steps are heard
or
the breath of worlds
as
they turn in the night
that
is rarely noted
even
the smell of ripening wheat
is
something the farmer turns indoors from
the
dream is bigger than all that
and
the truth is
what’s
not telling
time
spun my head
till
the dream was all
closed
in the book
a
world of light
let
this be my tomb
'I have a window of day' - Great!
ReplyDeleteMarvellous, all, but I particularly like this:
ReplyDelete"I have a window of night

'let this be my tomb' just whacked it into the wood for me.
ReplyDeleteokay I'll try to write some funny ones next
