Footnotes

They squeeze their new degrees

from between their teeth like cheese

freshly batched from lecture bench

and seminar, inuteroed with all that

heavy fruit picked scaling the sheer

learning cliff and now madkeen to

repay by scatter-gun spraying chunks

of Adorno, Butler, Said, Sedgwick,

all those frog theorists, and the rest,

so fast and hard rammed down the

gullet like half-mulched fish regurgitated

into the gob of greedy fledgling chicks

dying to guano the waiting world with

all their freshly ingested learning and

impress the proud penguin parents

that fed them … 

And why the hell not?
