Chrysogonus #72 - Candi Plaosan

Candi Plaosan

from a cloudless sky
sun sees piles of stone
dreaming of temples
they once were

you must imagine
serene smiles on the faces
of stone Bodhisattvas
heads gone years ago

dead incense sticks
on the breeze
dried petals
scatter the ground

cold cloisters
monks have long abandoned
where the sutra
still rings

in bedtime stories
told under a full moon
for spiders
in the corner

a vast mandala
sleeps under sheds
and ruins, farmers' house
under lush green rice fields

where the muted prayer
still echoes in breeze
through fresh shoots of rice
after even a thousand harvests

di langit tak berawan
matahari menunduk pada tumpuk
batu yang bermimpi kembali
menjadi kuil di masa lampau

senyum teduh di muka
Bodhisattva batu
muncul di bayang
hilang kepala bertahun lalu

dupa mati bergoyang
di hela nafas sang bayu
kelopak bunga kering
terserak di pelataran

ruang semedi dingin
lama ditinggal para biksu
tetapi lantunan sutra
masih bergema pelan

di dongeng sebelum tidur
setiap malam purnama
bagi laba-laba
menggantung di pojok

mandala besar
tidur di bawah kandang
reruntuhan dan rumah petani
hampar sawah menghijau

tempat doa tak terucap
terus bergema di alun hawa
antara bulir-bulir padi
bahkan setelah ribuan panen
