Two Crows by Emma McKervey #12

Two crows

It should’ve been a sycamore seed
twinned, too late in the year,
too high in the firmament,
too black, too splayed, two crows
lock-jawed for the scrap of food,
entwined, rapid and spinning,
propelled back to earth.
