clouds
all the great events
in life and book
and world historic –
birthdays
revolutions
and bringing the tablets to light –
they're still up there
for all to see
each word spoken
still goes round
it's like the book's afloat
on that world
after an all nighter
it could be any dawn
never the same sun rises there
but every god gets a turn
everyone sees what was
this helps to think
how things are
and what may be
we are own pyjamas there
day's naked
dream it
waking wonder
how things will ever again lie flat
we dance around for an hour at dawn
just to see what's up
on such a world
we're silly with the wind
like kids in a classroom
want out
