Claine Keily # 4 A wife named Black

He had a wife
by the name of Black
taken away

She carried firewood

When she came back
she had changed
to a plant with her roots cut through

The husband found a gardener
but the owner kept him off
complained that this groundsman had been alone
was not solid enough

Then in the long rains
at the first disturbance
to his quiet non-existence
the owner stated
that he believed the she had gone
as she could not quite stand such happiness

    1. Thanks Mikaela. I am hoping to have time on the weekend to read and respond to the poems of others. Last day of the school term tomorrow and I am still flat out!
