In the embers
always the spark
ready to catch
and shed light
in the darkness
the trick is how
to stop the friendly
fire becoming
another conflagration
-- a job which consumes one
and reduces balance
leaving one burnt out
For now, there is time to chill,
buy some new thongs
get a pedicure
walk across wet sand at twilight
see a great musician on a week night
and reconnect with all the people and past times
