The Orchid Grower # 113 Claine Keily

Tonight
she finds the withered
roots
of orchids
and with heat
and moisture
causes them to respond
from where death
has taken them
back to a show of life
again

Then she teaches
this thing
before her
how to love
again

Just when the toll
of the classroom
has found her unripened
she is beckoned
despite her longing for sleep
to rise and teach
again

  1. Wow - like your other poems Claine, this poem really packs a punch. I love the poignancy of the middle stanza about teaching/this thing/before her/how to love/again - really hits the spot :)

  2. Thanks Rob, sorry I have not had time to respond to many poems on the site at the moment. Teaching keeps me very busy, even on the weekend!
