Chrysogonus Translation #51 - from Susan Hawthorne's "Sun"

Susan Hawthorne – Sun

matahari telah berteriak
selama enam bulan
hampir tanpa air mata
di musim tangis
matahari pernah bersinar
senyumannya
tidak di tahun ini
aku akan menjerit
memanggil, lagi dan lagi
hingga aku selesai

the sun has been shouting
for six months
almost no tears
in the season of tears
the sun used to shine
its smiles
this year is different
I will shout yells the sun
I will call out again and again

until I am done

  1. I love reading both pieces. Chrys, thanks. By the way, should 'air mta' (tears) not be 'air mata'? or 'mta' is a variation of 'mata' in your language?

  2. Sorry Oscar, it was a typo. Thanks for spotting that :)
