Collaboration #2. Robbie Coburn's "Ocean" + Michele Seminara's 'found' response, "Tide".
Ocean
(Robbie Coburn)
the sea will rinse us all,
the nights,
are longer
sky collapsing
in a grey gathering of thought
you hear
the tide is coming in
she stops dancing
on her grave
you hear
the children silent
and the waves are not drowning.
to die
is to become a memory.
Tide
(Michele Seminara)
(Michele Seminara)
Thought is longer than the night,
the grave grey sky collapsing.
Waves of memory dance
then die, her children
a silent gathering —
The sea, the sea, the sea
will drown us all.
what a wonderful collaboration, individually and together! I love the way the poems echo one another in a manner that breaks free from a single originary point. That's a really interesting effect and affect....
