Efi Hatzimanolis #113 'Everything shops'

I must have an honest,
well fed looking face
for the web
in my garden,
and a good reputation
amongst the insects.
Why else would a small wasp deposit a small spider
right by my coffee cup on my upturned tin bin
at breakfast.
I watched it in a tizzy,
I knew not to eat it.
I felt as though I’d been entrusted
with something precious,
like a girlfriend’s shopping to safeguard
while she tries on for size
yet another spider
