Mikaela Castledine #145 Spare

I’m feeling the bones in my wrist
they click and could
I think
with the correct puzzle piece manipulation
smoothly uncouple my sore hand
with the weakness in the heel of my thumb
that runs a prickly pain back to my forearm
and the tenderness between my bones would ease
while my aching hand rests
perhaps in a velvet drawstring bag
and I could take a spare
which has been on charge
attaching it with a practised rotation
and go on with my work

  1. A good poem about pain and a possible solution - the spare hand!

  2. A bizarre but effective solution (I can relate to the problem)! If only the whole body were amenable to 'the correct puzzle piece manipulation' when things go wrong.

  3. I hope it heals easily and quickly, Mikaela.
