Nikko #1
Acrylic, 55cm x 70cm mixed media on canvas
Behind in my October days, one more for today.
Visiting Japan in springtime we were fortunate enough to see
the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, which are almost overwhelming. But we also headed
up to Nikko, the wonderful city of ancient Shinto temples and shrines, where
snow was still laying on the ground, with colourful spent grasses visible from
the last season. Some people think this is an image of water and reeds, I love
how paintings are truly in the eye of the beholder.
really beautiful piece
