or march along the great wall
how long have we been here
everyone is lost in the crowd
half hour to walk a hundred meters
the dead don’t want our leftovers
they’ve got problems of their own
study the back of someone’s head
what could possibly be missing
burn a bit of this burn a bit of that
today a hundred pockets picked
what could possibly go wrong
don’t forget to remember me
we contemplate tomorrow
tomorrow we sweep the tombs away
ReplyDeletewe'll live forever then
NB Perhaps I should've mentioned that yesterday was Tomb-Sweeping Day here in China, when the ancestors' graves are visited. The Great Wall typically sees enormous crowds, during this and other festival days.
